Since its inception in 2004, Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati (SRC) has rescued over 1,500 schnauzers and we don’t plan to stop there. Our motto of “No Schnauzer Left Behind” holds true to the value that we put on a dog’s life. Our dogs that are brought into rescue come primarily from home surrenders or local shelters. While our group is based in Cincinnati, members reside in a number of other cities including St. Louis, Indianapolis, Akron, Toledo, Columbus, Louisville, Lexington, and Winter Haven, Florida to name a few. This set-up aids the group as we cast a wide net to bring in our rescue dogs from all over the region. We do not have a local shelter where we keep our adoptable dogs. Instead, the pups are kept in foster homes to provide them exceptional care while they wait for their forever home. We find that this attributes to the success of our adoptions as by the time the dog is ready to be adopted, the foster home is able to speak to the personality of the pup; therefore, the foster home can fit the dog with the adoptive home that best fits him or her. Schnauzers are extremely intelligent dogs and therefore, easily trainable. Many of the dogs we bring in are purebred schnauzers and therefore, do not shed and are hypoallergenic. Overall, this breed makes a wonderful companion for all ages. Our application process is very thorough and therefore, we do not conduct on-site adoptions. If you fall in love with one of our adoptable dogs, please fill out an application that can be found via our website at www.schnauzerrescuecincinnati.org. Thank you in advance for your interest!
Adoptable Animal Types & Adoption Fees
Schnauzer Rescue of Cincinnati has the following adoptable animal types available:
- Dogs: $250 – $350
All of their adoptable animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, current on all DHPP/FVRCP and Bordatella vaccines, microchipped, and if age appropriate, all of their animals are rabies vaccinated.
The dog adoption fees vary by age of the dog. They range from $250-$350. To begin, the adopter must first fill out an adoption application that may be found at www.schnauzerrescuecincinnati.org. A member of SRC will then conduct a home visit and vet check. If approved, the adopter will be able to meet the adoptable dog to ensure it is the right fit.
