Pet Description: Poor Darrell, a 4 year old, 23 pound, Jack Russell/Beagle mix was attacked by another dog and ended up dumped at a vet's office. Even though he suffered a severe neck and puncture wound on one of his rear legs, this sweetie has exhibited no aggression towards anyone or anything. Darrell does very well with other dogs and cats, and his tail is always wagging. He's also crate/house trained. If being attacked wasn't bad enough, Darrell also tested positive for Lyme Disease. Lyme is a tick borne disease that is not contagious to other dogs. While it is treatable, it's not curable. Most dogs can live long healthy lives with it laying dormant in their system. Should it rear its ugly head, antibiotics are needed. Thus far, Darrell is not showing any symptoms (joint tissue inflammation or lethargy), which is a bonus! If you would like to give Darrell his forever home, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.
