Pet Description: Edith, FIV+ (believed to be about 9 years old): Darling Edith was trapped during a TNR event the week of New Year's but was so nice that a foster home was found for her. She was thin, had a nasty upper respiratory infection, and tested FIV+. She surprised her foster mom and veterinarian by making a fast recovery, though, and it's anticipated that she'll be cleared for adoption soon. She is a purr machine she even purred during her blood draw for her intake exam. When her foster mama enters the room Edith comes over for non-stop pets and figure 8s around the ankles, then looks pointedly at the food bowl much like Garfield the cat. She'll be your best friend for life if you give her stew, soup, or bisque (but dry food is A-OK as well). Toys are ok, particularly furry mice, and she doesn't like being held for too long at a time, but she's all about the petting and your companionship. Edith uses the scratching posts on the cat tree and likes to watch the neighborhood birds, but her favorite place to sleep is an office chair. Now that she's close to being cleared for adoption her foster mom will see how she feels about other kitties! She's a quiet, low maintenance buddy and a delight to foster and watch.
