Pet Description: Oh my goodness! It's a pocket Golden mix! Holly is a 2 year old, 29 pound, Golden Retriever mix rescued from a high kill shelter in West Virginia. This sweet gentle girl is perhaps the perfect dog for any family. She's a huge cuddle bug, great car rider, and good with everyone and everything! Holly did test positive for Lyme which is a non contagious tick-borne disease. While the flare ups can be treated with antibiotics, it can not be cured. Many dogs can live long healthy lives with this disease! Symptoms of a flare up usually include joint inflammation/pain and lethargy. Should a flare up occur, all that's needed is a dose of antibiotics to cause it to go dormant again. Holly will also need a year Lyme vaccine to help keep the disease dormant.
