Pet Description: Jack is a young Black Lab and Hound mix that was born on October 20, 2018. Jack and his sister Diane found themselves without a mom at a very young age and a kind woman bottle fed them until HART took them in when they were three weeks old. Jack has a shiny short coat with a splash of white on his chest in the shape of the symbol "pie" and some white on his back paws. He spends most of his time wrestling with his sister (often a bit roughly) or with another dog in the foster home. They also like to chase each other around the yard or around the furniture. They both like to chew on sticks or toys. They do like other dogs and appear to be ok with cats that they met at the vets' office. It has taken them awhile to learn to stay away when another dog growls but after three nips of varying degrees they have come to understand that it means to be careful. They have been around children and do fine with them, but since they will be medium to large size so may accidently knock over toddlers or babies. They learned how to use the doggy door by themselves in less than a week when they were 7 weeks old. They would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard. They do well in the car just sitting on your lap or in a doggie bed on the seat, although they may become more adventuresome after they've had more experience. He does well on short walks in the neighborhood. Jack is a medium active dog that weighted 14 pounds at 11 weeks old. He runs into his crate easily with the promise of a treat and is quite through the night. Jack is crate trained and working on his house training. He will be a great family dog and is looking for his forever home!
